Once you've created a user profile, you can apply it to all devices for that user, including phones, tablets, gaming consoles, and PCs. I tapped the + icon in the upper right corner of the Home screen, selected Smart Devices, tapped Thermostats, and selected Nest Thermostat from the list. The app found my thermostat immediately, and I assigned a location and was finished. Back at the Home screen, a thermostat tab was added to the list of devices. I tapped my thermostat icon and was able to set the heat, switch modes, and turn the thermostat on and off. I chose a location from the list , created a network name and password, and connected my phone to the new network.
You can set a duration or give it 24/7 priority. At the bottom of the screen are Overview, Shortcut, Automation, and More buttons. Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods.
All Decos Work Together
Nest WiFi nodes also function as Google Nest smart speakers. Ask it for the weather and the Google Assistant will tell you the forecast. You can also use it to control other devices you have connected to it like you would with a regular Nest speaker.
Apparently a lot of people have signed up to Elon Musk's internet service provider. TP-Link's Deco M9 Plus certainly comes away from this comparison looking like a better overall value than Nest WiFi. It's a little cheaper, promises more coverage, and gives users more versatility with Ethernet ports. Of the two options, it's undeniably better for power users. Google Wifi
As with most Wi-Fi systems, the Deco M9 Plus is easy to install. Start by downloading the mobile app and creating an account. Once you've verified your email address, open the app and click Let's Begin. Select the M9 Plus from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to power off your modem before plugging in the Deco. When the LED begins pulsing blue, tap the Next button to connect the Deco to your network.
From the Google Home app, you can even command it to play music. Speaking of the app, you have to use that to set up Nest WiFi. As I noted in my review last year, the process only takes a few minutes and is largely painless. Deco is the simplest way to guarantee a strong WiFi signal in every corner of your home up to 6,500 square feet. Enjoy fast and secure Tri-Band WiFi no matter how many devices you have.

My apartment is famously hostile to wireless networks, but Nest WiFi fixed that right up. The only problem with it is a near-total lack of Ethernet ports, as the main router only has one free port and the nodes have none at all. To that end, a Google Nest WiFi router with one node is $270. This covers up to 3,800 square feet of otherwise WiFi-less real estate. But, if you think you need more, a bundle with a router and two nodes is available for $350.
The Linksys Velop Tri-Band router's score of 116Mbps was the fastest of the bunch. There's also a Notifications section where you can enable/disable alerts for Parental Control and Antivirus events, and when a new device joins the network. Had few devices that weren't able to connect due to those settings. But that doesn't mean you should discount Nest WiFi, necessarily.

Google's mesh WiFi system is a great option for those who just want WiFi coverage in their homes without a ton of fuss. If you've already bought into Google's ecosystem with Android or Nest devices and you're accustomed to using Google Assistant, it becomes even more of a no-brainer. I can personally attest that it works great and patches up big coverage holes created by a normal WiFi router. TP-Link has Google beat when it comes to pricing. One router with one node has a list price of $300, but it's available at Walmart for just $200. You'll get up to 4,500 square feet of WiFi with that bundle.

WiFi can have a tough time passing through walls and other physical obstructions. And even the best mesh system can struggle in a relatively small apartment if there are lots of walls between a router and a node. So it can help to get additional nodes to ensure you're getting the strongest signal coverage possible. Mesh WiFi routers are perhaps the best blanket fix.

I will never go back to a traditional network setup. The amount of features I have access to is very impressive and easy to manage.
